Type species: Illusiopora bifax Gordon & Taylor, 2015
Diagnosis: Colony fixed-erect, forming an initially cylindrical or lensoidal stem that may widen distally to become bilamellar. Autozooids with relatively large subpyriform orifices that appear in longitudinal rows in proximal part or all of the colony; blunt pivots delimit anter from poster. No oral spines. Frontal shield with sparse pseudopores confined to margins, typically with a thin line or suture mid-frontally. Avicularia generally paired, lateral-oral, with complete pivot bar. Ooecia not seen. Interzooidal communications mural not basal, small and uniporous. (Gordon & Taylor, 2015)
