Aetea anguina is a widely distributed Recent shallow-water species. Specimen illustrated is from Bass Strait, Australia.

Original description: Sertularia anguina Linnaeus, 1758.

Illustration: from Busk, 1852. Anguinaria spatulata is a junior synonym of Aetea anguina
