Cigclisula occlusa (Busk, 1884)

Cigclisula occlusa is recorded from the Recent of the Indo-Pacific. The original records, which included Crozet Island in the sub-antarctic Indian Ocean (latitude 46°S) as well as Cape York (latitude 10°S), must be re-examined to establish the nature of the type specimen.

The specimen illustrated with the SEM is from southwestern Australia. A single ovicell is present (lower centre). The identification is provisional. The colour photograph is from Darwin, and is by the courtesy of Jan Watson.
