Tilbrook (2006:206) critically reviewed the status of Microporelloides, and expressed the opinion that this genus is defined on characters which are expressed inconsistently among the member species. The species contained in Microporelloides appear to be better grouped in the genus Microporella. In addition (p.218), Tilbrook recommends that use of the genus Fenestruloides should be abandoned until a comprehensive review of Fenestrulina is undertaken. If further subdivision of Microporella or Fenestrulina becomes necessary, these taxa remain available. These web pages will soon be modified to agree with the view of Tilbrook.
