Otionella parvula is found from the Eocene to Miocene of Argentina. Specimen illustrated is Lectotype MNHP (from Cook & Chimonides, 1985). The relationship of this species may be closer to other Southern Hemisphere groups, such as Otionellina or Petasosella (Bock & Cook, 1998)
